Man Found Dead After Standoff in Dubuque

A
man was found dead in a Dubuque home following a standoff with
police. Officers located the man who was wanted on five warrants
at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at a residence on Kaufmann Avenue. The man
tried to flee from the home, but locked himself inside after seeing
police.
The Dubuque Police Tactical Entry team deployed tear gas into the home
shortly before midnight. They entered the home at 12:46 a.m. Sunday and
found the man dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Authorities are expected to release the man's name later today.
