Board
Delays Decision on Central School
Posted 11 June 2008
Members of the Dubuque School Board unanimously voted last night,
Tuesday, June 10, to wait before making a decision to close Central
Alternative High School.
Before Tuesday night's meeting, parents protested the proposal to close
it as a cost-saving measure for the district. The board listened. This
comes after the board put off closing Jones Hand-in-Hand Daycare Monday
night.
Both schools serve special needs students.
The district will set-up a task force to make recommendations by
February 2009.
